"This poem/lyrics is for all people who have ever been in an emotionally abusive relationship. I’ve experienced it firsthand, and am on the other side of it now, but definitely know how devastating, soul sucking and debilitating it can be. Please know there is hope to get through it and joy on the other side of it. I’m living proof. I was not ok for many years, but I am now and pray you will be too!" - KIM (contributing writer)
"My brain is super noisy. I barely know anything about mental health and have quietly fought battles alone all my life. Only since Covid changed the world have I become more aware of the importance of mental health awareness for mental health. We're all in this world together! So, I loved The Noisy Brain project as soon as I saw the name and the yellow colour. Love that. I had a great time working on my song "Hold Fast" for this collaboration. I learned a lot about myself and the shared struggles of others.”
- Malleus Incus Stapes (musician)
"I'm really excited about this project you have created. Music is such an incredible tool. I don’t know where I would be without it. Such a great idea of a project. I’ve always loved the idea of Kintsugi. It was a really powerful poem, hopefully I did it justice, obviously I did use a bit of creative license and put some words in of my own."
- Dylan Wright (Musician & Australian Idol Winner 2024)
"This is possibly too dark for a song, but I'll submit it and see what you think... This was written about a year after I came out of hospital (mental health unit in Surrey) and I was frustrated as I felt nothing much had changed, and I was on all these meds, which were sapping my soul - killing my personality. It's pretty raw, but it's the truth." - NickK
"The perils of being on a mental health ward
(I think, in some cases, such wards make things worse),
Set to the tune of My Favourite Things."
- NickK (community member & contributing writer)
"The song Brain Noise has been created using the lyrical writings of contributors to The Noisy Brain.
Mental Health is very close to my heart and it has been an absolute pleasure to have been part of this.
Voluntary organisations like The Noisy Brain + HEAVY METAL THERAPY are vital to support, these guys give up their own time to help others. So we need to help them." - ALPHA KINETIK (musician)
This writing is about a world where it should be seen as a strength when you can say, "I need help". - STU
Eugene teamed up for this simple 60's vibed arrangement of one of Stu's submitted writings - ‘To know things’
This song recognises that in life we need support. It’s about love that pulls you through the tough times.

Every song created and every piece of writing shared helps towards raising awareness and educating us all on the various mental and emotional health issues.
There are only positives - from feeling less alone to inspiring others to share. It’s not just a normalisation of the topic through discussion, it’s a celebration of human experiences.
